Elevator Outage Options
In case of an elevator outage, use the following options or contact the station agent for assistance. Agents can arrange a ride to a different station in an accessible van if needed.
ELEVATOR TO OAKLAND AIRPORT CONNECTOR
- Can't access connector: Take another mode of transportation such as an AC Transit bus.
- Can't exit to airport: Go back to the Coliseum Station and take another mode of transportation such as an AC Transit bus to get to the Oakland Airport.

The train platforms at Oakland International Airport Station are located on a raised platform two levels above the street. The first raised platform is the BART Coliseum Station for the Warm Springs/South Fremont, Dublin/Pleasanton bound trains or San Francisco, Richmond bound trains. Concourse level is on the street level.
If going to Oakland International Airport (OAK) from another city on BART, you may need to transfer heading to the Warm Springs/South Fremont bound train. Check the BART System Map information.
The street elevator is approximately 100 feet heading North from the paid area. Press “P” for train platform level.
Exiting the street elevator on the first platform, follow the signs to Oakland International Airport (OAK) on the opposite end of the platform. Press “P” for train platform level.
At the second raised train platform level, there is a slight uphill where the paid area is located. Inside the paid area, travel approximately 55 feet to the pedestrian overpass to the center of the train platform to board the train.
Travel time from Coliseum BART Station to Oakland International Airport (OAK) is about eight minutes.
Inside the paid area at Oakland International Airport (OAK), take the elevator down to the street level and you will be right in front of Terminal 1 and a short walk to Terminal 2.
Exiting Oakland International Airport Station
The train platforms at Oakland International Airport BART station are located just across from Terminal 1 baggage claim area and a short walk from Terminal 2.
Right across from Terminal 1 there will be an elevator to the train platform located inside the paid area. Press “P” for platform level.
Travel time from Oakland International Airport (OAK) to Coliseum BART Station is about eight minutes.
Exiting from Oakland International Airport (OAK) train, head towards the pedestrian overpass inside the paid area. There will be a slight downhill to the elevator. Press “P” to the first raised platform to BART Coliseum Station level.
On the first raised platform at the BART Coliseum Station, you can either continue taking BART to your destination or travel to the opposite end of the platform where the street elevator is located. Press “S” for street level.
The paid area is approximately 100 feet heading South from the street elevator.
