The BART Board adopted the Surveillance Technology Ordinance and Policy in September 2018. BART was the first transit district in the country to adopt such a framework and policy.
The ordinance requires public posting and public review of documents related to surveillance technology before going to the Board of Directors for action. It also requires an Annual Report of each technology in use.
BART posts each Surveillance Impact Report and a proposed Surveillance Use Policy in its news section of bart.gov and they we also be archived here on this page.
