Rockridge Tree Replacement

In 2017, BART conducted a Rockridge Station Hazard Tree Assessment by Certified Arborists of the International Society of Arboriculture. The Arborist report recommends BART remove hazard-trees adjacent to the parking lots of the station to maintain public safety. The identified hazards include 16 red ironbark eucalyptus trees along Keith and Shafter Avenues. All of these trees have been removed. BART is committed to replanting this area and is working with the community to identify safe and appropriate trees.  BART’s goal is to have the new trees planted by late spring of 2018 pending planting recommendations from the arborist and modifications to the irrigation system.

A public meeting was held on January 18, 2018 at the Rockridge Community Planning Council (RCPC) Meeting Town Hall.  View the presentation from the meeting, a fact sheet, and additional information that was made available. For more information about the project or to provide your comments on the replanting, please contact: Richard Fuentes, Principal Representative of Government and Community Relations, at 510-464-6883 or at [email protected].  Comments are accepted through February 1, 2018.
