Public comment portal now open for BART PD's compliance with CALEA standards

The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) public access portal is now open for public comment on the compliance of BART PD to CALEA standards.

This access allows for the public to provide comments, commendations and other information regarding the department's quality of service or other information relevant to the accreditation process.

In 2019, the BART Police Department was officially accredited by CALEA. At the time of BART PD's accreditation, fewer than 6% of law enforcement agencies in the nation were accredited through CALEA.
