Arrest made in connection with January attack at Richmond Station

The United States Marshals Service has arrested a suspect in connection with the attack at a Richmond BART station that left a male victim unconscious on January 2nd. 45-year-old Daniel Jamin Nettles Sr. was arrested by the Marshals Service at a residence in Martinez. The suspect is wanted for attempted murder after he knocked out the victim and kicked him twice in the face. Nettles has been interviewed by investigators and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility.

The suspect was identified in part through video surveillance footage from a camera on a train. That image led to other photos which were used to confirm his identity. All that information was then given to the Marshals Service. This is the latest example of BPD’s surveillance network of more than 4,000 cameras playing an important role in the arrest of a suspect.
