Powell Street Station stairway to be temporarily closed starting 2/2/22
On February 2nd our contractor will build temporary construction barriers at the BART Stairs near Hallidie Plaza at Powell Street Station concourse & platform levels. Access to other stairs and escalators will remain open (see map). The construction barriers installation will not interfere with your access to trains. The barriers are expected to remain in place through March 2022 and the work within the barriers will be on-going from Monday through Friday.
You may experience some noise and minor dust while the work is happening. Dust mitigation will be in place to minimize exposure. The contractor’s goal is to finish the work as quickly as possible.
This work is an important part of the ongoing station improvements and will provide new LED lighting and painting above the stair & escalators. We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience.
