Cell service impacted in some areas due to fire

We’ve learned some AT&T fiber was destroyed in a fire and it is impacting cellphone service while riding BART in some areas. The impact area is from Embarcadero, through the Transbay Tube and parts of the East Bay (through Oakland, Richmond, and the Caldecott BART Tunnel). This is out of BART’s control and is not related to any of our equipment. We have reached out to those responsible for the equipment to let them know it is impacting our riders and asked them to keep us in the loop on when to expect service restoration.
