Help shape El Cerrito Plaza's Transit-Oriented Development at Oct. 3 Open House
Members of the public are invited to join BART's Open House on October 3, to provide input for an upcoming transit-oriented development (TOD) project at El Cerrito Plaza Station.
BART and the City of El Cerrito have been working closely to initiate the process of selecting a developer for a transit-oriented, mixed-use, mixed-income development at El Cerrito Plaza Station. Currently, BART is preparing its solicitation materials and is seeking input into the criteria that might be used to select an appropriate private developer for the site. In particular BART will be preparing a document summarizing the Goals and Objectives for development of the surface parking lots at El Cerrito Plaza.
On Thursday, October 3 from 6:30-8:30 pm, at the Hana Gardens - Senior Center at 10870 San Pablo Avenue, BART, the City of El Cerrito, and TransForm (a local non-profit) will host a public Open House to learn more and share their analysis of parking and station access. Members of the public are encouraged to drop by at any time during the Open House. BART staff will be on hand to answer questions related to the development process and talk about issues related to parking, transportation, and access.
The results of this engagement effort, as well as analysis completed on parking and access needs of the station, will be reviewed by the El Cerrito City Council and the BART Board of Directors at one of their regularly scheduled meetings this fall. The exact schedule for the meetings is to be determined.
Language assistance will be provided for non-English-fluent speakers.
This event was supported by a Caltrans Sustainable Communities Planning Grant.
