BART this weekend plans longer trains and additional event trains, no single-tracking
BART is planning for a very eventful weekend across the Bay Area and will not be single-tracking anywhere in the system for its Measure RR-funded rebuilding efforts. BART plans to run longer trains and select additional event trains this weekend as riders head to various festivals, parades and events in both San Francisco and Oakland.
Outside Lands/San Francisco Pistahan Festival
BART is planning for increased ridership this weekend for Outside Lands at Golden Gate Park from Friday, August 9, to Sunday, August 11. To accommodate possible festivalgoers, BART is running longer trains in the non-commute hours on Friday afternoon and across most hours on Saturday.
On Sunday, BART will be running select direct service Richmond-Daly City and Warm Springs-Daly City trains in the morning and afternoon. BART will still run on a Sunday schedule, in which the Antioch line will be the primary Transbay line and the Dublin/Pleasanton line will terminate at MacArthur Station.
On Sunday evenings after 7 pm, additional event trains will be deployed for festivalgoers leaving Outside Lands for the final night.
BART advises Outside Lands festivalgoers to offboard at Civic Center Station and transfer to Muni's N Judah rail line or 5R Fulton Rapid bus line. BART plans extra station agent support at Civic Center to help festivalgoers. Both N Judah and 5R will receive additional service, according to Muni. Read more here.
Longer trains for Outside Lands festivalgoers on Saturday will also benefit San Francisco Pistahan paradegoers. The parade starts at Market Street at 11 am on Saturday.
Raiders Game/Banda MS Concert
For Raiders fans heading to Oakland Coliseum for the Saturday night game against the Rams, BART plans to run longer trains on both Richmond-Warm Springs and Daly City-Pleasanton line and will deploy extra event trains. The longer trains and additional event trains will also benefit those heading to Oracle Arena the same night to see Banda Sinaloense MS de Sergio Lizárraga, also known as Banda MS.
Future weekend service impact
After this weekend, BART is planning several weekends of single-tracking and track shutdowns as it works to rebuild and repair miles of its trackway, electrical equipment, stations and more. Next weekend, August 17-18, BART is planning its first of six track shutdown weekends between Orinda and Walnut Creek stations and will include two eastbound Highway 24 lane closures next to Lafayette Station.
However, there will be overnight lane closures on Highway 24 this weekend, lasting from 11 pm Friday to 7 am Saturday and then from 11 pm Saturday to 9 am Sunday. For more information on the track shutdown and Highway 24 lane closures, visit this webpage which is updated daily.
BART is also single-tracking on Sundays between Embarcadero and 24th Street Mission stations to replace outdated cables and pipes running through its busiest corridor, as part of Measure RR efforts. The next Sunday for the San Francisco line single-tracking is August 25. Learn more about the single-tracking here.
Plan ahead and save time

For riders traveling from 19th Street Oakland station, Clipper Card is the only payment option sold at the station, as part of a pilot to phase out paper tickets. Clipper works for nearly all of Bay Area public transit services, including BART, Muni, AC Transit, ferries, cable cars and more, and riders will save time and money using Clipper to ride BART.
