Pittsburg//Bay Point parking lot is back open (Update)

6:20 am Update: the evacuation area has been moved from our Pittsburg/Bay Point parking lot to Los Medanos College. The lot is now available for BART riders to park.

The Pittsburg/BayPoint parking lot is being used as an evacuation center due to a grass fire threatening an underground gas pipeline in Baypoint. 

BART service is not expected to be impacted but parking will be very limited at the Pittsburg/Bay Point Station for the morning commute. 

Drivers are encouraged to use another station if they need to park or to get dropped of at the station. Antioch, Pittsburg Center, North Concord, Concord, Pleasant Hill Stations all have parking lots. Parking is in high demand at all BART lots and fill up at various times in the morning. 

The Red Cross is on-site and providing services to the evacuees.
