Night parking work at Fruitvale Station June 2-3

As part of our system-wide Earthquake Safety Program, construction crews continue work to strengthen the elevated structures outside the Fruitvale Station to be stronger during future earthquakes. This phase of work is almost complete. We will need to close some spaces in the Reserved Permit parking lot northeast of the Fruitvale Station to restripe that part of the lot. Please see the map on the back for the general location. Please note that vehicles not moved from areas that posted with “No Parking” signs will be subject to ticketing and/or towing. The signs will be in place at least 72 hours before the lot is closed.

This work will be done at night from 9pm Friday, June 2 to 4am Saturday, June 3 with emergency work as necessary. We will monitor noise, dust, and work to minimize any inconveniences. During this work, you can expect temporary loss of some nighttime parking in the Reserved Permit lot located northeast of the Fruitvale Station. Please proceed around construction areas with caution and watch for signs with safety information and other notices. You can also expect temporary construction-related noise, dust, and traffic impacts. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this work.

Related work to strengthen the concourse area of the Fruitvale Station will also occur between late 2017 and mid-2019. Earthquake Safety Program construction will be underway at various locations throughout the BART system over the next few years, and is expected to be complete by the end of 2022. As always, safety is BART’s top priority. Our aim is to strengthen BART as quickly as possible, while maintaining BART service.
