Mechanical problem on train at Powell Station causes major midday delays

BART service is at or near schedule following a major noon-hour delay due to a disabled train at Powell Street Station.

The train became stuck at Powell Street Station around 11:45 am due to a mechanical issue and had to be moved slowly out of the way to the Daly City maintenance yard. During that time other trains were single tracking around it.

The train was out of the way and service restoration began shortly after 1:00 pm. At the height, delays were at least 45 minutes for customers who were on the system.
