BART operates longer trains for San Francisco Pride
Longer trains also on Saturday and Sunday for SF Giants, A's Games
BART will provide longer trains to accommodate the crowds expected to celebrate the 40th anniversary of SF Pride this weekend.
The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Pride Parade and Celebration will be held at San Francisco's Civic Center Plaza on Saturday and Sunday. Festivities begin at noon and ends at 6 p.m. on Saturday, 7 p.m. on Sunday. The parade will be held on Sunday, June 27. It begins at 10:30 a.m. at Market and Beale Streets and ends when the final contingent winds its way to Eighth and Hyde Streets. Details about the 40th SF Pride event can be found at www.sfpride.org.
Both festivities are literally steps away from BART stations. You can access the parade from any of BART's downtown San Francisco stations and the celebration is one short block from Civic Center Station.
THE "BARTMOBILE" WILL APPEAR IN PRIDE PARADE
"This year, the crowd-pleasing BARTMobile will take spectators back to 1970 with its 'Soulful Train' crew," BART Board Member Lynette Sweet said. Sweet represents BART's District 7. "This is the BARTmobile's sixth appearance at Pride and we're excited to be a part of its fabulous 40th anniversary!"
EXTRA SERVICE FOR A'S AND GIANTS
BART will also provide longer trains Saturday and Sunday when Boston visits the Giants at AT&T Park and Pittsburgh visits the A's at the Coliseum in Oakland.
