BART expands service for weekend sports events
BART will run longer trains to accommodate the thousands of sports fans attending baseball and football games this weekend. There’s the 3:00 p.m. Cal versus Colorado State match-up on Saturday, September 27. There’s also the SF Giants/LA Dodgers game and the Oakland Raiders/San Diego Chargers game, which both begin at 1:05 p.m. Sunday, September 28. As an added service, BART will have trains on stand-by for the thousands of fans leaving the football stadiums in Berkeley and Oakland. BART urges Golden Bears fans to enjoy Berkeley shops and eateries until the post-game crowd thins out.
On Sunday, BART personnel will be selling flash passes and round-trip BART tickets from tables at three stations to help ease demand at ticket machines. Ticket tables will be open at the Dublin/Pleasanton, El Cerrito Del Norte and Fremont stations from 9:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. with BART staff selling flash passes to the Coliseum/Oakland Airport Station and regular round-trip blue BART tickets to downtown San Francisco stations for fans headed to AT&T Park. BART officials suggest riders buy round-trip tickets to avoid lines before the ride home.
