August is Capitol Corridor Month

Every year we set aside one month to celebrate the connection between BART and the Capitol Corridor, making Sacramento and San Jose just one quick-and-easy transfer away!

The Capitol Corridor is an intercity passenger train system that provides a convenient alternative to traveling along the congested I-80, I-680 and I-880 freeways. This fast, reliable and affordable rail line stretches along 170-miles of Northern California, connecting the Sacramento region with San Francisco, Oakland and destinations as far south as San Jose.

With the addition of the new Capitol Corridor Oakland Coliseum Station this year, transferring to a Capitol Corridor train from BART is even easier. Just take BART to either the Richmond or Coliseum/Oakland Airport stations and follow the signs to the Capitol Corridor platform. Leaving traffic behind and getting to Sacramento or San Jose has never been more convenient.

The Capitol Corridor makes it easy to take great summer trips to San Jose or Sacramento! Through the end of August, when you travel on a weekend you can take a friend for free. Visit capitolcorridor.org for information on our Friends Ride Free Weekends discount promotion. Be it a day trip to Great America, or a weekend getaway up to Old Town Sacramento, you'll appreciate ditching the car and just enjoying the journey.

And if you think a getaway by train sounds cool, you should look for Capitol Corridor representatives in BART Stations during the month of August. The Capitol Corridor will be showing up at the El Cerrito del Norte, Bay Fair, Pleasant Hill and Dublin Pleasanton BART stations with the Starbucks Chill Patrol van and handing out free samples of tasty chilled Frappuccinos to celebrate Capitol Corridor Month on BART! Visit capitolcorridor.org to find out where and when we will be handing out samples.
