BART hosts “All Aboard with Transit CEOs” public ride-along TODAY!

In celebration of Earth Day, the Bay Area transit agencies, and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) are hosting “All Aboard with Transit CEOs,” a multi-modal ride-a-long and social event giving the public a chance to ride with and meet regional transit leaders. The event is also an opportunity for transit leaders to call for financial support from the state for transit operations and to showcase the coordination happening among agencies to improve the rider experience in the Bay Area.

The event is Friday, April 21, 2023, from 2pm-6:30pm. It will kick off with a press conference at Orinda BART station at 2pm. Then multiple General Manager/CEOs from various Bay Area transit agencies will ride multiple modes of transit together, ending with a public no-host happy hour from 5:15pm-6:30pm in Walnut Creek at Stadium Pub.

The multi-modal journey will include riding BART’s Yellow line, and then bus/trolley hop using Tri Delta Transit and County Connection ending in downtown Walnut Creek.

Members of the public and the media are invited to ride the full or partial journey and join the CEOs for happy hour at Stadium Pub in Walnut Creek. This is a great opportunity for the public to chat with General Managers about transit service and transit career opportunities.

Participating agencies include BART, SFMTA, SamTrans, San Francisco Bay Ferry, County Connection, Tri Delta Transit, WestCAT, Napa Valley Transportation Agency (NVTA), Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC), and Contra Costa Transit Authority.

Below is the exact trip they plan to take. The public can meet the CEOs at Orinda BART Station, or they can meet them along the journey. Look for the CEOs in the first BART car. They will be wearing their name badges.

You can also tweet at @SFBART during the journey and they will tell you where to find them.
