Purchase a special BART 50th anniversary Clipper card at Lake Merritt Station

BART 50th anniversary special Clipper cards

BART celebrated 50 years of serving the Bay Area last year, and we are continuing our appreciation for the region and our riders with a special commemorative 50th anniversary Clipper card now available for purchase at Lake Merritt Station.

The special Clipper cards are available exclusively at Lake Merritt Station and can be purchased for $3 at all its vending machines or at the Customer Service Center. There are no online options for purchase, and the special Clipper cards are not sold at any other BART station. Visitors to the Customer Service Center can also purchase other BART 50th anniversary merchandise as well as foam toy trains, socks, shirts, beanies, jackets and more, and apply for discount Clipper cards for youth, seniors and RTC cards for those with disabilities.

There is a limit on the number of 50th anniversary Clipper cards that can be purchased at once: up to 3 for the Customer Service Center, and up to 5 from the Clipper card vending machines.

Lake Merritt Station and the street-level plaza was also home to the 50th anniversary celebration last September. The plaza was where the first BART headquarters was located before demolition. Lake Merritt Station is the home of the BART 50th anniversary history display for the celebration, which was attended by thousands of people.

The BART Customer Services Center has a sales window in both the free and paid areas. They are open from Monday to Friday, from 8:30am until 4:45 pm (excluding all observed holidays). The Customer Services Center can be reached via phone at 510-464-7133.
