Entering Downtown Berkeley Station

Check the status of out of service elevators ELEVATOR ALERTS

There are two levels below the street at Downtown Berkeley Station. The first level is the concourse. The second level is the train platform.

Two separate elevators are needed to get to from street to the train platform.

The street elevator is located at the intersection of Shattuck Avenue and Center Street.

Street elevator will take you to the concourse level outside the paid area. 

On the concourse level, turn left and travel approximately 75 feet where the fare gates are located to the right. The elevator to the train platforms is inside the paid area. Process your ticket, turn right and travel approximately 75 feet where the elevator is located. Press “P” for train platform level.

At the train platform level, you will be at the far end of the platform.

Exiting Downtown Berkeley Station

The train platforms at Downtown Berkeley Station are located two levels below the street.

Two separate elevators are needed to get from the train platform to the street.

Exiting from Richmond bound trains the elevator will be towards the front end of the train at the far end of the platform. Press “C” for concourse level.

Exiting from Warm Springs/South Fremont or Daly City bound train the elevator will be towards the rear of the train at the far end of the platform. Press “C” for concourse level.

On the concourse level, turn left and travel approximately 75 feet inside the paid area to where the fare gates are located to your right. Process your ticket and turn left  and travel approximately 75 feet to the street elevator that is located outside the paid to the right. Press “S” for street level.

When exiting the street level elevator, you will be at the intersection of Shattuck Avenue and Center Street.
