Improvements to Bay Fair Station in January and February

Beginning Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, and continuing through the end of February 2012, crews will be working on improvements to the sidewalks, lighting and drop off areas at Bay Fair station. These improvements will require the removal of some trees to allow for sidewalk widening and resurfacing and the addition of new curb ramps and lighting. The work will be conducted in three (3) phases (download the Passenger Bulletin .pdf to see map for locations): Phase 1: Close 33 parking spaces, remove 2 trees and replace sidewalk. Phase 2: Relocate 18 reserved parking spaces, resurface the pedestrian bridge, widen sidewalk from bridge to station and remove 1 tree to install new curb ramp. Phase 3: Close 44 parking spaces, remove 12 trees, replace sidewalk and relocate lights. (Additional trees may need to be removed—an arborist will be onsite to make that decision).

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and appreciate your patience. If you need language assistance services, please call BART’s Transit Information Center at (510) 465-2278.

Updated Jan. 6, 2012, to reflect new start date for work.
