BART celebrates the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through music and the arts

On Wednesday, January 19, from noon to 1 pm, the public is invited to join BART in its annual celebration of the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a program of music and song. The event will ttake place in the auditorium on the second floor of the administration building at 300 Lakeside in Oakland. The program will include BART Director Lynette Sweet as Emcee and opening remarks from General Manager Dorothy Dugger. The Oakland School of the Arts Music Department will provide performances by their drum ensemble and other musical groups. Featured performers will be from the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir, which has been thrilling audiences with its spirit-filled music and spreading the message of love, peace, joy and hope for 25 years.
