BART to run longer trains, add event trains for Cal game against Oregon

BART plans to run longer trains through Berkeley on Saturday when the Cal Bears take on Oregon at Memorial Stadium. The game is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Large crowds are expected for the game against the Ducks, the nation's top-ranked team in both the AP Top 25 and USA Today Poll for each of the past four weeks.

Extra BART personnel will be on duty including staff at ticket sales tables set up at the Downtown Berkeley BART Station after the game, from around 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. BART also will operate additional special event trains as needed after the game, for customers' convenience.

BART urges customers to buy roundtrip tickets to bypass potentially long lines at ticket machines, or to get an electronic Clipper card (www.clippercard.com) to avoid dealing with paper tickets altogether. Another option for avoiding the rush immediately after the game is to take some time to check out the restaurants, shops and other attractions of downtown Berkeley.
