How to use assisted parking at Richmond Station

Dear Customer:

We will be using "Assisted Parking" in the east side parking lot to provide replacement parking during construction of the new parking structure. Assisted Parking will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday except for BART holidays and will be staffed by uniformed attendants. There is no charge for Assisted Parking. We are using this parking program because it allows a greater number of vehicles to be parked in a smaller area. Below is an explanation of how this service will work.

Self-Park
Customers arriving at the station before 6 a.m. should park as usual in marked spaces. After 6 a.m., a uniformed parking attendant will show you to an open stall to ensure all marked stalls are completely filled. Please follow the attendant’s direction to the open stalls. Traffic cones will block aisles that are full. Please make a note of your stall number—this will help speed up the process when you return to pick up your car. You will be allowed to take your car keys with you. When you return for your car, please go to the attendant booth nearest to where you parked. Tell the
attendant your stall number or area in which you parked (areas will be assigned a letter) and the attendant will let you know if your car is blocked in or not. If your car is blocked, the attendant will move any cars blocking your car.

Stack-Park
Once all the marked stalls are filled, uniformed attendants will direct arriving customers to park in the aisles. Once you have parked, the attendant will do a quick inspection of your vehicle and note any existing damage and vehicle mileage on the ticket. You will be asked to give your key to the attendant who will give you a ticket stub to use when picking up your car when you return. Your keys will be kept in a secure lockbox. When you return for your car, please go to the attendant booth nearest to where you parked and show your ticket stub (at the end of the day, all keys will be consolidated at booth #1). The attendant willreturn your keys and tell you where to find your car. If your car is blocked, the attendant will move any vehicles blocking it. PLEASE NOTE: If you stack-parked and return after 10 p.m. to pick up your car, there will be no attendant on duty to return your car key. If you don’t have an extra key with you, then you will either have to wait until the next business day to pick up your car or pay a $50 after hours call out fee to have an attendant come to the lot to retrieve your key from the secured booth and lockbox. If you think you will return after 10 p.m., please plan to bring a second car key with you.
