Ringling Bros. circus comes to Oakland

The 138th edition of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus is coming to ORACLE Arena ...  just a short walk from the Coliseum/Oakland Airport BART Station.

The "Over the Top" production Aug. 14-17 is a wacky and whimsical circus spectacular with clowns, elephants and Bengal tigers. The show features equestrial stunts from the renowned Cossacks and high-altitute feats by the Flying Caceres on a double-decker trapeze. There's also a motorcycle high-wire act and seven speeding riders inside a Globe of Steel.

An animal open house 90 minutes before showtime will let visitors get up close with some of the animals. And one hour before showtime, families can learn circus skills with some of the athletic performers from the show.

Take BART to the show and receive a $5 savings. (Offer redeemable the day of the show only. One BART card required for each discount ticket purchased. Offer excludes Circus Celebrity, Front Row, and VIP seats. No double discounts.)  Visit www.mybart.org for details.

You can find out more information about the event at Ringling Bros.

Getting there:

Take BART to the Coliseum/Oakland Airport station. After exiting the faregates, walk straight ahead to the steps leading up to the overpass, and walk over to the Coliseum and Arena. At the end of the overpass, take a left. You will have to walk around the Coliseum in order to arrive at the ORACLE Arena.
