RIDE IT. FOLD IT. BART IT.
Did you know that folded bikes are allowed on BART anytime, anywhere? Regular bikes are restricted on trains during certain commute hours (refer to BART’s Bicycle Rules or use the BART QuickPlanner for exact hours) but folded bikes are allowed on the trains at all times! Visit myBART.org for your chance to win a Giant Halfway folding bicycle that can be brought aboard any BART train at any time.
BART bike rules
Even on Bike to Work Day, BART's bike rules still apply. Please review the BART bike rules, check out the BARTtv video or the bicycle section for more.
Electronic Bike Lockers – Coming soon!
BART is installing electronic lockers at eight stations this year. Unlike BART’s key lockers which provide just one key for one renter, a single e-locker can be rented by as many as five cyclists in one week by using smart card technology. Pay just pennies per hour using a Bikelink TM Card available at http://www.bikelink.org The improved efficiency should mean greater availability, so watch BART.gov for updates on when and where those lockers will be available.
